During Child Abuse Prevention Month, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that $3 million in
funding was allocated to help Family Resource Centers in California extend emergency relief to families. The funding was intended to provide direct support and services to at-risk and foster families, including material items, assistance with isolation needs, parenting resources, and staff time to help link families to other state and federal supports (e.g., food, housing, etc.). The California Family Resource Association (CFRA) administered the funds timely and equitably through an abbreviated RFA process supported by a diverse review committee.
